Profiles of the authors

This textbook for Level 1 certification by the International TRIZ Association (MA TRIZ), in line with the current requirements of MA TRIZ, is the result of the work of a group of Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) specialists from various fields. These people work in a team implementing innovative projects in accordance with Pragmatic Innovation methodology based on modern TRIZ. Long-term joint activities in the field of innovation have led to impressive results in North and South America, Asia, and Europe.

The team has trained thousands of specialists in various training courses, from basic methodology training to implementation of TRIZ methodology, aimed at improving innovation in companies. The courses and workshops conducted by the authors are based on the valuable experience they gained while working on consulting projects for companies such as Samsung, Hyundai, Intel, Procter & Gamble, General Motors, and many others.


Sergei Ikovenko

Professor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston (USA), Tufts University in Medford (USA), L5 MA TRIZ specialist (TRIZ Master), a Presidium Member of MA TRIZ, with thirty years of experience in innovation (developing solutions, teaching activities), TRIZ consultant for Novismo. Recognized on numerous occasions by companies and institutions. An enthusiast of hiking, history, and linguistics.


Sergey Yatsunenko

Co-founder of Novismo, Ph.D. in physics (the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland), L4 MA TRIZ, Director of the TRIZ University at MA TRIZ, Presidium Member of MA TRIZ.


Małgorzata Przymusiała

Graduate of the Department of Philology at the University of Lodz (Lodz, Poland), member of international project teams in 6 Sigma and sap corporate implementations, L3 MA TRIZ specialist. Interested in new developments in medical technology. Enjoys traveling and discovering new places, stories, and flavors.


Mark Barkan

Professor of the University of Tennessee Knoxville, L5 MA TRIZ  specialist (TRIZ Master), a Presidium Member and Executive Director of ma TRIZ, with fifty years of experience in innovation (developing solutions, teaching activities) with various manufacturing and construction companies. An expert in the development of the creative and critical thinking skills in people of every age.


Piotr Karendał

Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia (Katowice, Poland), author of numerous scientific articles and studies on innovation, L3 MA TRIZ specialist. A passionate skier and a lover of Japanese culture and fantasy.


Serhiy Kobyakov

Ph.D. in physics (Institute of Physics, the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland). Involved in experimental research on solid-statephysics at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (Warsaw, Poland), L3 MA TRIZ specialist, avid photographer.


Jerzy Obojski

Graduate of the University of Warmia and Mazury (Olsztyn, Poland), mechanical engineer, L3 MA TRIZ specialist. Inventor, enthusiast ofengineering challenges, collector of logic puzzles.


Zakhar Vintman

Former lecturer and rector of the National University of Science and Technology in Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine), former director of Vector, a scientific and technical center, lecturer (innovative technologies and creative development) at the Knowledge Association. TRIZ consultant, as well as a TRIZ Champion recognized for his achievements in spreading knowledge related to TRIZ.
